Nigeria head coach, Samson Siasia, has revealed his reason for leaving out OSC Lille goalkeeper, Vincent Enyeama, from the Super Eagles team that defeated Madagacar’s Barea 2-0 in a 2012 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying on Sunday. Siasia told Brila FM from the team’s Carlton Hotel camp in Antananarivo via telephone that he had to take charge of the team as head coach. The 44-year-old coach expressed unhappiness that the former Enyimba shot-stopper allegedly attempted to incite other players in the Nigerian camp while in Abuja to boycott flying out after travel plans had been concluded.
“He (Enyeama) came in (to the camp) and everywhere turned upside down. I have to be in charge of my team. I won’t allow anybody to disrupt the team,” said the Nigerian manager. Enyeama, 29, was left out of the starting line-up of the Super Eagles by coach Siasia in Sunday’s game against Madagascar at the Stade Municipal de Mahamasina in Antananarivo. The former Hapoel Tel Aviv and Bnei Yehuda keeper was not even named on the bench. Instead Siasia opted for Dele Aiyenugba and Chigozie Agbim of Warri Wolves as number one and reserve keeper respectively. Enyeama alongside John Mikel Obi and Victor Anichebe were reported to have expressed dissatisfaction with the flight plan of the Nigerian team to Madagascar. Enyeama is not the first high-profile player to be sanctioned by the Nigerian coach. In May and June this year, West Bromwich Albion striker, Peter Osaze Odemwingie, experienced same ordeal following his rant on a social media network, Twitter in which he took a swipe at Siasia.

what's wrong with 9ja playas? In England, it is a huge pride to play for the three lions,, why must naija be different?! afterall, didn't they colonize us?! I remember Mikel playing for Chelsea even when is popsy was captured... can you imagine him playing for naija in that condition even if the venue's in England?!

Only confident and good managers can take such decision and come out winners at the end. I am afraid, you are not one of them Siasia. There is something called man management in football I urge you to adopt such tactics. There are important players in every team and it is your job as a manager to carry all along. For years, Nigerian players have been treated badly without any one questioning it and I wholly support the attitude of Enyeama and others. NFF can afford to spend millions of Dollars on foreign team managers, lodge them in the most expensive hotels with friends and families but provide the least acceptable transportation and accommodations to the players. These players are used to good treatments. Provide them with standard treatments if you want to get the best out of them. You are not good Siasia and it is a matter of time before results will start going against you. You need these players to survive. For you to discuss problems in the camp or dressing room shows how naive you are. Deal with the problems in the camp and let it stay in the camp. If Siasia drops a player because that player don't work hard for the team, that I can understand as the whole world know that is the problem with Nigerian football team. English FA do not treat their players bad. They treat them with respect and that is why players play to die for England. I wouldn't die for Nigeria.
