After this subsidy demonstration the next step should be corrupt, past military men and politician should be put to jail, to cough out the money they stole and who ever runs away should remain in exile for ever. We know their names, its no secret. We can do it, who could believe Mubarak would leave power in Egypt. Is time we start taking our destiny by force. the Tunisian type of protest is the best and that is what is changing the Arab world today. Reply

Quote from: nametalkam on 13-01-2012 10:18 AM The Labour congress and federal government are yet to share a common stand in the recent incident of increased fuel prices. ![]() 1. The NLC and various goverment representatives had a meeting at 5PM (GMT +1) in Abuja yesterday 2. At the marathon meeting attended by President Goodluck Jonathan, organised labour, the leadership of the Senate and the representatives of state governors, labour was given two options for the reinstatement of the N65 per litre price of petrol. The first option is to revert to the pre-New Year price on the condition that the subsidy regime would be completely removed in April. The second option is to allow the N65 selling price of petrol and withdraw 80% of the subsidy in March, meaning that petrol would sell for N120 if the current price regime remains in force. 3. The Labour Congress did not accept this options hence a deadlock. 4. Another meeting has been scheduled for Saturday for continuation of talks. 5. Labour insists that the strike and protest should continue until a final solution is reached. Will keep you updated.
