Jim Iyke lost his mom on the 1st of April, 2014 and he has been silent over her death. He finally found courage to pay tribute to his mom who he says, no lover, sister or even a daughter he might have in the future can take her place. His words;
"She was a force of nature. My big sis, my 1st wife, my confidante, my rock, my critique, my greatest fan and regal leader.
"She was a radiant, gorgeous woman with a smile bigger than the sun and always ready to embrace anyone for all the good and even wrong reasons.

"They say it's a blessing if a son buries his mother and not the other way around. I'm not sure they're entirely right.
"They also said one never recovers from the loss of their mother. I hope they are right! May I never recover from the memories of your celestial love, sacrifices, warmth, your contagious laughter and merciless wit.
"Your enthusiasm for life and service of others was infectious. I'll miss you each and every waking moment of my life. I know you're in a better place now.
"I'll carry on everything you stood for 'til my last days.

An Ebute Metta court, yesterday remanded Nurudeen Adio in prison for stabbing his friend, Lateef Jimoh to death. Nurudeen Adio was said to have stabbed the deceased during a fight at 6:30pm in Amukoko area of Lagos state. Apparently the fight which led to the death of the deceased was as a result of who should have a bigger share of the N800 they collected from a motorist. 32-year-old Nurudeen and 33-year-old Lateef worked as park touts. The offence is punishable under Section 221, while the magistrate, Mr .O. O. Olatunji, ruled that the accused be remanded in prison custody pending the DPP’s advice.

Nigerian woman appointed Precinct Commander by New York Police Department The New York Police Department (NYPD) has announced the appointment of a Nigerian, Deputy Inspector Olufunmilo Obe, as the Commander of the 28th Precinct in New York City. On Friday April 4th, 23yr old Tosin Odunaiya (pictured right), a Nigerian living illegally in England tried to invade Buckingham Palace, seeking to see the Queen. Tosin, who came alone, told the guards who stopped him in front of the palace, that the queen would welcome and help him as he is finding it hard to return to Nigeria. When the guards told him to step, Tosin started a shouting match with the guards, resulting in one armed soldier intervening & pointing his gun at Tosin.

From UK Daily Mail Odunaiya, who claims the soldier, a member of the Coldstream Guards, 'didn't scare me' said: 'I was shouting louder and louder when the Guard came over and started shaking his gun at me.'
Passers-by reported how the would-be intruder said 'Oh you're a big boy now' to the soldier - thought to be Scottish - who in turn replied 'Yes I am a big boy' before pushing him.
Royal protection officers then ushered the man away, though he was not arrested. He told the newspaper that the incident on Friday was his fifth attempt to get into the palace, and that before he has been so sure of being allowed in that he brought a toothbrush with him.
Odunaiya claims that his past visits were made to lobby the Queen over Syria, but that now he just wants help going home to Nigeria - as he hates it in Britain.
It is unusual for soldiers to leave their post unless a Royal is under threat, as the Metropolitan Police are responsible for most issues related to guarding the palace. But it is believed that the soldier who intervened has the backing of his superiors. The Metropolitan police said that they gave the man 'words of advice'.
A spokesman said: 'An incident occurred at the north centre gate of Buckingham Palace at approximately 17.50hrs on Friday 4th April.
'Officers from Royalty protection spoke to a male and he was given words of advice. There were no arrests.'
Scotland Yard refused to elaborate on why the man was not arrested.

Thousands of Ugandans led by President Yoweri Museveni held a rally Monday celebrating tough new anti-gay laws, praising the bill despite international criticism and donor aid cuts.
“Thank you for saving the future of Uganda,” read signs held by the demonstrators, who marched through the streets of the capital Kampala.
Last month, Museveni signed a bill that calls for “repeat homosegxwals” to be jailed for life and requires people to report homosegxwals.
US Secretary of State John Kerry likened the new law to anti-Semitic legislation in Nazi Germany and warned it could damage ties with Washington.
Other demonstrators, who sang a song called “bye-bye homosegxwality”, appealed directly to US President Barack Obama.
“Obama, we want trade, not homosegxwality,” one sign read.
Critics have said Museveni signed the law to win domestic support ahead of presidential elections scheduled for 2016, which will be his 30th year in power.
But Museveni made clear his personal objection both to homosegxwality — which he claimed had “unhealthy repercussions” — as well as to oral sex.
“Oral sex! The mouth is for eating, it’s not for that purpose,” he told the crowd.
Diplomats and rights groups had been hoping the president, who is already under fire from key Western donors over alleged rampant graft and for stifling opposition groups and media, would refuse to sign the legislation into law.
The European Parliament responded to the law by backing sanctions against Uganda, saying the country had violated human rights and democratic principles.
Annual foreign aid to Uganda accounts for a fifth of the east African country’s $12-billion (8.6-billion-euro) annual budget.
But Museveni said Uganda would survive the cuts.
“Thanks for the support, but let us produce wealth so that we don’t have to beg,” he said.

The Christ Gospel Apostolic Church located at Destiny Avenue in Egbeda area of Lagos has been sealed off by the police after a pastor of the church was caught burying a 2-year-old girl in a shallow grave within the church premises. According to report, the pastor, identified as Dare Ogunloye was caught by a resident close to the church who had gone out to ease himself at about 2am and he allegedly saw him burying the child. The police at Idimu Division were said to have stormed the church and exhumed the body of the victim for autopsy. They also and arrested the pastor. A police source said the Divisional Police Officer, Mike Ochuko, instructed his men to exhume the corpse from the church premises for autopsy. When journalist visited the church, a team of policemen could be inside and outside the church auditorium, while their Mazda patrol vehicle with registration number BD 36 AW was used to block the entrance of the church so as to ensure the premises remains sealed. Meanwhile, the traditional ruler of Egbeda kingdom, Oba Samson Balogun has urged the Lagos State Government to close down the church permanently if the allegation was true. According to a report by Punch, a Nigerian soldier who was a guest on the Voice of America Hausa Service has claimed that some military chiefs are aiding the men of the dreaded Islamic sect, Boko Haram.
The soldier who did not reveal his identity, told VON Hausa Service, that sometime ago, while serving in Bama Unit in Borno state, a commander from a nearby unit got in contact with his own commandant and asked for backup.
He said when he and the soldiers were to meet with the soldiers from the other commandant, they discovered they were given different uniforms and in the brink of launching the attack on the insurgent group, the soldiers from the other unit were withdrawn by their commandant leaving them to face the men of the Islamic sect alone with light arms. He also claimed that some of the insurgents they killed were officers that conducted training in military base in Kontagora near Abuja. Continue...
"We had only light arms and our men were being picked off one after the other. We realised that some of them were actually mercenaries from the Nigerian army… hired to fight us,” he said.
The unidentified soldier said that most of his colleagues are silently putting their arms down and leaving the army due to the frustrations they experienced and what he termed the politicizing of the war against the Islamic sect "“I swear by Allah, there are soldiers who are coming out of the forest after they were abandoned; several of them dropped their weapons and just went home. These people are doing this secretly.” he said His claim on some military personnel being recruited by the sect group seem to have been confirmed as some Military high command on Sunday launched an investigation into claims of a lance corporal who was said to be killed by the Special Forces during an encounter with insurgents in Borno State. The Lance Corporal according to a source told Punch that he was a trusted trainer of Special Forces at the Nigerian Army Training Centre, Kontagora. "A soldier who trains Special Forces at the Nigerian Army Training Centre in Kontagora, Niger State, was among those who were killed. The man was not among the Special Forces; he was obviously leading the attack for the insurgents but he got killed. It was one of the soldiers that identified him as somebody from his unit in Kotangora. The soldier called attention to the man’s corpse and when the commander said he should be searched, they recovered a current pass authorizing him to leave Kotangora and his Army identity card from him". Director of Defence Information, Maj. Gen Chris Olukolade in response to the soldiers claims said they were all not true and that the unidentified soldier could be a Boko Haram sect member who was disguising as a Soldier. "The person that granted that interview on the VOA; we believe he is not a soldier, he could just be one of those simulated on the other side to give some false impression to support the insurgents.” He refused to comment on the story about the killed lance corporal who is alleged to have been working for the sect members.
