The pastor of a popular Pentecostal Church located along Nnebisi Road, Asaba, Delta State has allegedly impregnated a 45-year-old woman and her 14-year-old daughter.
The pastor identified as Pastor Sam who is currently on the run was said to have impregnated them under the guise of conducting prayers for them to deliver them of evil spirits that had been battling them.
According to report, after the death of her husband, the mother of three and her daughter have been under evil spells after elders of the Illah community where they live, had consulted seers who accused the woman and her teenage daughter of having a hand in his death.
The woman and her daughter were introduced to Pastor Sam in December 2013 and he had promised to deliver them from the spell. Thye have been consulting with the pastor until last week when they both took ill and were taken to a private hospital in Asaba by their neighbours.
After several tests at the hospital, the doctors confirmed both of them pregnant and they claimed the pastor was responsible.
After the news of the pregnancy broke out, the pastor was said to have deserted his church and left an unknown destination.
Elizabeth Agu, the elder sister of the pregnant woman who confirmed the incident said, they've been trying to reach the pastor on his mobile phone but its been futile as his phone switched off and his whereabouts unknown.

Nine people burnt to death in a fire on Lagos commercial bus on Warewa Long Bridge, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Ogun State, on April 5th.

The accident occurred around 4pm this Saturday, with 9 people burnt beyond recognition and 9 others who got injuries. According to police reports, there were 6 people dead, however, the Federal Road Safety Corps reported of 9 deaths.

Chidi Nkwonta, the sector commander, FRSC, claimed that “The accident was a lone crash. According to first-hand information, the bus was coming from Ibafo in Ogun State and heading to Ketu in Lagos when the accident occurred. Nine people were injured while nine were burnt beyond recognition.

The bus, a yellow Mazda, was filled to required capacity when the accident happened.

“The injured persons have been rushed to the Accident and Emergency Centre, Ojota. Investigations are ongoing,” Nkwonta added.
Due to the accident, traffic was very busy for several hours as the rescue officials were evacuating the vehicle.

According to the correspondent of Punch, 6 corpses were delivered to the Mortuary of Sagamu General Hospital.

The family members of those recognized, were yet to be identified.

Police source reported that “the corpses as well as items one could have used in identifying the corpses were burnt. So, we are stuck. People should feel free to walk into the mortuary and check for missing loved ones.”

Popular furniture maker and Ijebu business man, Otunba Tola Okuneye has been assassinated. He was shot dead yesterday at St.John Anglican Church, Oke-Sopen, Ijebu-Igbo when 10 fully armed men stormed the church around 11am while the pastor was preaching and shot him several times on the head. 

He is not a politician, the men just went straight to where he was seated and shot him dead. We wonder why this happened, a church member said. Otunba Okuneye was 70 and he is survived by six wives and over 20 children.

uspected Islamic militants opened fire in a mosque in Buni Gari village and killed at least 20 worshippers, survivors say.

According to Musa Ibrahim, the gunmen struck before dawn Saturday as residents were gathering for the first prayer of the day.

Buni Gari village is about 100 kilometers (60 miles) south of the Yobe state capital of Damaturu in an area that has been attacked numerous times.

Suspected Boko Haram gunmen seized two Italian priests and a Canadian nun in northern Cameroon overnight Saturday, in the latest kidnapping of Westerners in the remote, insurgency-wracked corner of west Africa.

The attack occurred overnight in the small parish of Tchere, which lies about 40 miles (60 kilometres) from the corner of northern Nigeria that serves as a base for the Islamist Boko Haram group.

A group of armed men pulled up at the parish shortly before midnight, according to Henri Djonyang, the region’s head vicar, information that was confirmed by police.

The gunmen ransacked the parish before seizing the priests and nun, according to news reports. The priests were identified as Giampaolo Marta and Gianantonio Allegri and the nun as Gilberte Bussier.

One of the two priests taken on Friday night had been in Cameroon for more than six years while the second had arrived around a year ago, the Ansa media agency reported.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility, but Djonyang pointed the finger of blame at Boko Haram, who have carried out several kidnappings in the region over the past year.

“They are the ones who did it,” he said.

Kidnappings of Westerners have become common in the remote and sparsely populated region, where borders between countries are porous.

In November 2013, French Catholic priest Georges Vandenbeusch was seized by heavily armed men who burst into his parish at night and reportedly took him to neighbouring Nigeria in an attack claimed by Boko Haram.

He was released seven weeks later, touching down in Paris on January 1.

Vandenbeusch was abducted from his home near the town of Koza in northern Cameroon, about 30 kilometres (20 miles) from the Nigerian border.

He was seized by about 15 people who had first gone to the nuns’ house, apparently to look for money, giving him time to warn the embassy.

In February 2013, a Frenchman employed by gas group Suez was kidnapped in the same area together with his wife, their four children and his brother, while visiting a national park.

They were taken to neighbouring Nigeria and also held by Boko Haram, before being released in April.

France and other European countries have often been accused of paying ransoms for hostages, claims the governments have repeatedly denied.

The insurgency by Boko Haram, a group aiming to establish an Islamic state in Nigeria, has killed thousands since 2009.

Abuja in February sealed a portion of its border with Cameroon to block the movement of insurgents and other criminal groups.

Nigeria claims that the Islamists have set up bases in sparsely populated areas of its northeastern neighbours — Cameroon, Chad and Niger — and flee across the border after staging attacks to avoid military pursuit

We read so much about you in the news. Would you say that those things we read about you are true?
A lot of them have been false.
How do you feel when they are so false?
I am always then like, why should people be so evil? So evil like that? I tend to ask myself at that point why? People are so lazy that they cannot take time to seek out the truth!
You talk about false stories, which one can you immediately share with us?
Okay, there is this recent one, which has been in the news lately, which refers to me as having impregnated my account officer. In the first place, I do not know where that story emanated from. I don’t even know where that story could have come out from. I don’t know about it at all!
But the impression out there is that it is true…
Of course it is not true. Impression you said, but impression can also be in both ways. Initially nobody said whether it was true or not. So what I did was to correct whatever impression from my twitter page. But the story still went on.

It is a serious matter because now I am married. So it is unfair for anyone to put out such story about me perhaps because they want to sell their medium or sell their blog. It is really totally unfair to me, especially now that I am married. If I wasn’t married, we would have laughed over the matter. But now, I am. So I do not expect that people will play over such issues of emotion at this time of my life.

The truth is that, now that this has happened, I am not going to ignore such battering of image any more. We will consider and take legal actions against such people. We are not going to sit down and watch that any more. About my image, I try to be a loyal Nigerian citizen, try to live my life the best way I can, and I try to stay out of criminality.

Definitely I have a couple of female friends, just like I have a couple of male friends. Boundaries are to be respected and if boundaries are not being respected, I have to voice a respectable apology and move on. But I think my friends know this. So they ‘free’ me.

My wife loves me. So she must be jealous. If I am laughing with a particular girl too much or I am going the way that I am not supposed to go, or if one girl is following me too much, she will be there to caution me. She definitely has to be protective of her man. At that point she can tell such a girl, ‘hold your side!’ And if it is I that is doing it, she could tell me, ‘cool down, I dey here o.’
