Prosecute killers of Boko Haram leader, Peace Corps urges FG

President Goodluck Jonathan has been called upon to prosecute killers of the Boko Haram sect leader, Muhammed Yusuf, in order for the members to lay down their arms and end the crisis in the country, National Commandant, Peace Corps of Nigeria (PCN), Ambassador Dickson Akor, said yesterday in Abuja.
Akor,who spoke to newsmen, said bringing to justice killers of the Boko Haram leader will not only ease the process of amnesty but will make the sect feel assured of government’s seriousness on the proposed amnesty.
 Akor argued that international law makes it clear that anybody that has been arrested and handcuffed shouldn’t be shot because he is already demobilised, adding that the prosecution of those involved in late Yusuf’s killing will deter others from doing so
