Yes 25th December was Roman pagan day of celebration but it was replaced because early converted Christian continued to celebrate the pagan festival. So since people needed something to celebrate on that day that is not idolatorous the pope decided that instead of pagan celebrattion the day will be used to celebrate the birth of Jesus. That was how Christmas was born. There is nothing idolatorous about celebrating the birth of Jesus our Saviour on the 25th of Dec. Afterall the Roman god that was celebrated previously on that day by pagans does not hold a monopoly of that date. The celebration of christmas stopped the early christians from participating in a sinful festival and it also gave them something holy to celebrate.  That's what Jesus does He replaces unholy things. Happy birthday in advance Jesus. Cool

In a nutshell, Christmas has PAGAN origin.

Well Jesus was not born on December 25th we all know that, 25th December is a day for Romans' celebration. People don't bother to know what they celebrate. I'm happy that some men of God are getting to know the truth.
Well said Kiss Kiss Kiss Kiss Kiss Kiss Kiss Kiss

I saw him on the television a few days ago. He was in Akwa Ibom State and was the chief preacher during their Christmas celebration event. Kumuyi is just saying what he feels; he is not making any doctrinal statement.”

The origin of Christmas, as we know it, could be traced to Roman Emperor, Constantine. Christmas was a day for celebrating the Sun God. However, because Constantine was a Christian, the day was changed to commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ.

Well, he is right this time. Christmas is not Christians. Its a pagan celebration. The celebrant, Jesus, never celebrated his birthdays. not even for once in all his 33 and a half years he was on earth. His apostles after his death never celebrated. But Jesus did celebrated his death even before he died and he COMMANDED us to commemorate it after he is gone and to be doing it every year before he comes again._Luke 22:19
If there is any passage in the Bible where Jesus authorize us to celebrate his death, at least, i challenged anyone, religions leader or not to prove it!
Then what is the origin of Birthdays cos xmas is the birth of Christ?

The first Birthday celebration was Pharaoh of Egypt. Pharaoh is not a Christian. He is a pagan, a murderer and an assassinator. On his birthday he murdered one of his staff_ Genesis 40:20-22

The second celebrant ever recorded in the Bible was Herod of Judea. He was a pagan also and a murderer and on his birthday, he murdered John the Baptist_ Matthew 12:6-11

These are only two birthdays mentioned in the Bible. No wonder Jesus never celebrated his birth nor his apostles cos Birthdays have pagan root not Christian.

That's your opinion. The only thing idolatrous about it is when some people celebrate the fake white Jesus. Jesus was already described in Rev. 1:13-17 and Dan. 7:9 All of you that have the painting in your homes, churches, etc are idolizing a regular human being.

Almost every holiday has Pagan origin including Thanksgiving, Easter, Valentines day, etc. And I know those that are condemning Christmas as pagan also celebrate 1,2 or more other holidays with Pagan origins as well.

Exactly!. And it really depends on HOW you celebrate that day. Romans celebrated it by worshipping the God of Saturn (Saturnalia) (mid-winter festival.) Some celebrate by giving gifts, and some by worshipping/praising God.
