Throughout the time the Israelite traveled from one place to another, God was leading them to take possession of the promised land. God solemnly warn them never to do like the people of the land, nor walk in their ways nor worship their gods. God sound this every time to the Israelite.
If God wants to institute any celebration for his people, he won't have to copy a date used by pagans. He is a God that own the whole year. there are sufficient days God can chose from.
the meaning of Christian is Christ followers. so we strive to follow his examples not our own. anytime u are faced with a decision, first weigh it with what the Bible really says, NOT what I or one pastor says before u make a decision. Jesus didn't say Celebrate me, nor worship me. he always tell people, Worship God.
See what Paul said in Galatians 4:10,11  " You pay special attention to certain dates, months, seasons and years. I am worried about you! Can it be that all my work for you has been for nothing?" This is very important to consider my friend. interestingly, Paul and all Jesus apostles never celebrated Jesus birth.
However, Jesus commanded that we celebrate his death. Yet, people pay more importance on Jesus birth_which he nor his apostles never celebrated more than his death which he commanded us to do and which his apostles did...this is food for thought!
On that day, each of us will answer for our error. so, its very important that we consider what the Bible really say by reading the bible and considering what it says before we make any decisions.

You are kinda right here. and its true that not everything in this world Christians must do and that also goes for celebrations..Galatians 4:10,11  " You pay special attention to certain dates, months, seasons and years. I am worried about you! Can it be that all my work for you has been for nothing?"
Jesus said that his kingdom is no part of this world! that means christian must not do as the people of the world do. if we and pagans celebrate same thing, then whats the difference b/w we and them? Thats why we must be careful what we do as christian. we must look if what we want to do agrees with the Bible before we do it.
For me, Jesus said remember my death which people call Esther today, marriages which Jesus himself attended and participate in. then gatherings for worship of God purposes. EVERY other things must be weighed very carefully, Must be examine with Bible principles before we do them. for example, smoking is not recorded in the Bible, yet, Christians don't smoke. why? Though no law says don't smoke in the Bible, Christians through Principles from the Bible knew that smoking is one of those things that defiled the flesh as mention at 2 Corinthians 7:1 (uncleanness)
The Bible describe True Christins as soldiers that is always on guard, not to do things that are displeasing to God.

Jesus did not ask us to celebrate his birth.  But, I don't have anything against those who celebrate Xmas.  Jesus in Luke 22:19 asked us to break bread in remembrance of His death. However the Bible said in Col. 3:19 "And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him." In this regard, how you do what you do is what matters. We cannot be more saintly than Jesus. It suffices a servant to be like his master.

No.1, was he born in deeper life church, No.2 , y always doing holiday retreat during december, y not choose jan. feb . march. Indirectly he is celebrating xmas wit his family and doesnt want d congregation to what is going on in d church
