Celebrities, in recent times, have been trying to leave a legacy behind, which they believe will help them when they are no more in the limelight. One would observe that some of them have lately become humanitarians.
It is now a common thing to have entertainers floating foundations, which they use to help the less privileged in the society. The list seems to be endless these days and many have commended them for such initiatives.
Popular Nigerian gospel singer, Sammie Okposo, has now joined the league. He recently took the responsibility of helping a young man with autism, a neuron-developmental disorder caused by impaired social interaction.
The singer decided to help the man’s education to the tertiary level via his ‘Sammie Okposo Hope Initiative’. The young man named Abiodun Olumide, was offered an admission to study Business Administration at the Lagos State Polytechnic. He also recently embarked on a ‘Walk of the Blind’, which was to raise funds for blind people to buy new white canes, to aid them to touch things while walking.
The gospel singer also donated food items and clothing materials to some people who were displaced by flood in Delta State.
