The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Benue State, Dr. Samuel Ortom could not control his emotion shortly after the current governor, Gabriel Suswam called to congratulate him in advance on Sunday.
It was gathered that after Ortom dropped the call, he broke down in tears, thanking God for a sweet victory.
He was shortly joined by other APC supporters in the state at his private residence located at Judges Quarters in Makurdi to thank God.
An emotion-laden Ortom couldn’t speak much words except ‘thank you Jesus.’
Situation in the state is currently peaceful following the acceptance of the defeat by the PDP. However, APC members could be spotted along the road chanting Isho chenge. Ortom is yet to make any official statement at the time of this report just as counting is still on at the INEC head office in the state.
