I don't believe in all these rubbish,  some feeble-minded and idol believers are quivering just because a common old tree felled down and accidentally killed somed people.

The speculations of the reporter should not be taken inhoneypot. If the reporter had based the report on the quoting of a deity kingpin, then the story would be believable. What is obvious is that the tree has become the oldest landmark of the community, which has earned it all kinds of varied opinion and exacerbated the negative viewpoint of superstition by calling it a deity tree. A heavy downpour would surely blow than a tree that old - it has nothing to do with appeasing any deity.
