Why do you think cookery books are becoming increasingly popular? it's because of people like you and your oyinbo wife to be.  Infact, i know a very big store here in Afganistan where you can buy cookery book on any 9aija delicacy.  If that one nor do you, if you wan go continental, dem get the books. if u can nt teach her becos u dnt no hw to cook,then get one of her close friend to do tht for u n u will c tht u will both be happi at last.go ahead just do all u can to make sure she knows hw to cook thts another way to tell her u love her.
