The desk officer in charge of Python Dance in Abia State, has confirmed that troops raided the family residence of Nnamdi Kanu on Sunday . We had reported earlier today that the younger brother of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Emmanuel Kanu, in a telephone chat with us, alleged that the Nigerian soldiers invaded their home once again and carted away some household items like television, generating sets, clothes among other belongings of the family.
When contacted by a correspondent, the military confirmed the operation at the Afaraukwu, Umuahia Country home of the embattled IPOB leader, but denied removing any household items from the compound.
The Desk Officer in charge of Operation Python Dance in Abia State said,
The Army Officer who craved to be simply identified as ”Desk Officer for the operation” also said the operation was a joint exercise with the police, saying “you can make further enquiries from the police."
He said the Sunday operation was based on the intelligence that arms were hidden in the compound.
However, efforts to get the reaction from the police proved abortive as the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Geoffrey Ogbonna did not pick calls put to his mobile phone.
