Communication: When couples start out initially, they allow a lot of communication between them but soon they communicate less. When this happens, a crack is easily noticed in such a relationship. Communication is very important and must be a-two-way thing. When only one partner makes effort to communicate, things soon turns out sour for the relationship. What do you think helps long distance relationship to flourish? Communication of course! Without communication such a relationship would die a natural death. Thank God for the advent of GSM, we can all reach out to our loved ones by such means. Even for those that are staying together, you need a lot of communication. When there is conflict, you employ communication to settle it.

When you want to build a house, there must be pillars, without which the house can not stand.  A house must at least have 4 pillars.

Likewise in relationships, there are things that keep it going, which I call pillars too.  Personally, I think the four pillars of a relationship are Communication, Compatibility, Trust and Love.

Now, we want to build this skyscraper called RELATIONSHIP, therefore we need more pillars.

Please add more pillars and explain what those pillars are.  But if you think any of my 4 pillars is not strong enough to be amongst the  main pillar, please replace it with yours.
