Barely a week after the release of album, Made In Lagos, by Wizkid, the collection has already debuted on the top 10 of Spotify’s global album chart.

Yesterday, Swedish-based audio streaming and media services provider, Spotify released its global album debut charts for albums released across the world between October 30, 2020 and November 1, 2020.

Wizkid’s album, ‘Made In Lagos’ debuted at No. 10, and it marks a major milestone for the singer, who surely would be looking forward to where his album would debut on the Billboard 200 chart.

Originally scheduled for release on October 15, Wizkid dedicated the project to the citizens of Nigeria in light of the police brutality occurring in his beloved country.

“It has been beautiful to see Nigerians around the world coming together to protest against police brutality,” says Wizkid.
Quote
“Unity is key. The youth of Nigeria need our collective voices to continue to shine a spotlight to what is happening inside the country.

I want to play my part in this and in the movement for a better Nigeria, a better place to live for ourselves, our families – our communities. We will get through this together. Together we move. #endSARS.”

On Spotify’s charts, Ariana Grande debuts at No. 1 while Sam Smith debuts at No. 2. Other debutants include Busta Rhymes and Trippie Redd.
