In my opinion, I believe it has to do with the African Belief that a man must take care of the needs of a woman if he wants her by her side. But in the case of nigeria, greed, ignorance and mass unemployement has turned a greater number of our girls into pretentious prostitutes. By a popular definition, exchange of sex for money or any other material thing is prostitution. Most jobless girls, just want to look like their friends, own a blackberry, designer hand bags, shoes and lots of things even the hardworking girls may not be able to afford. As a result of this, men are targeted. Since the major reason here is to get something out of you, they won't hesitate to label you based on their opinion of you.
