A Nigerian man who attempted to end his life by consuming a poisonous substance so he could join his dead family members has been rescued.

A kind X user rescued the suicidal man and took him to Wuse District Hospital.

The rescue operation took place after the man went on X to share a bottle of Sniper insecticide while revealing that he could no longer bear the weight of living without his loved ones.

The 23-year-old added that he lost his father, mother, and sister in quick succession and he just got news that another elder sister has died, leaving him as the only family member alive.

His post sparked concern and fast-acting Nigerians were able to get to him on time.
