The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, and his third wife, Olori Tobi Phillips, have officially announced the names of their newborn twins, adhering to the rich traditions and customs of Ile Ife.
Following the birth of the royal twins last weekend, as per tradition, the naming ceremony took place eight days after their arrival into the world. The ceremony was marked with reverence and cultural significance.
In accordance with Ile Ife tradition, the princess of the twins, named Taiye, was christened with the names Adesewa, Oreade, and Oluwatamilore Ejide Ogunwusi. Meanwhile, the prince, named Kehinde, received the names Adeshina, Oreade, Ejide, Oluwasemilore Ogunwusi.
During the ceremony, Olori Tobi Phillips, adorned with regal grace, was seen reading out the names of the twins from a paper, surrounded by members of the palace. Notably, the Ooni was absent from the event, adhering to tradition that prohibits him from seeing his twins for the time being.
The unveiling of the names of the royal twins further solidifies the legacy and heritage of the Ooni of Ife's lineage, marking a significant moment in the history of the revered kingdom.
