Police Apprehends Teenage Twins, Two Others For Burgling, Conspiracy In Ekiti

The Ekiti State Police Command has made a significant breakthrough in its efforts to curb criminal activities in the state with the arrest of twin brothers, Olasoji Kehinde and Olasoji Taiwo, during an attempted burglary at Mathew Street, Odo-Ado, Ado-EKITI.

In a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Sunday Abutu, it was confirmed that the twins were apprehended while attempting to break into a shop. Upon interrogation, the suspects confessed to their involvement in the crime and disclosed additional details regarding their criminal activities.

According to the statement, the twins admitted to being responsible for the burglary of three shops in Fayemi Market at Agric Olope, Ado-Ekiti. During these incidents, they allegedly stole two bags of rice, two bags of beans, and other valuables amounting to N936,750.00.

Following leads provided by the arrested twins, the Command's Rapid Response Squad (RRS) conducted further investigations, leading to the apprehension of two additional suspects identified as Afolayan Funke and Nnaji Benignus Aroh. The twins implicated the newly arrested individuals, alleging that they had been receiving stolen property from them.

The Ekiti State Police Command has reiterated its commitment to ensuring the safety and security of residents, urging members of the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities.
