
A devastating fire swept through a two-storey residential building at 14 Oko Baba Street, off Ibadan Street, Ebute-Metta, Lagos, on Sunday, causing extensive damage estimated in millions of naira. The blaze erupted at approximately 11:30 a.m., originating from a flat on the top floor of the structure.
The fire ravaged several units, including a two-bedroom apartment, a room-and-parlor self-contained unit, and a single room. Despite the severe destruction, emergency services reported no casualties or injuries.
The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, federal firefighters, and the Lagos State Emergency Management Authority (LASEMA) quickly responded to the emergency, managing to bring the fire under control and prevent further spread. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
