Nollywood filmmaker Omoni Oboli has shared her challenging experiences at the beginning of her career. In an interview with Radionow 95.3 FM, she disclosed that she used to trade her scripts for film roles, giving them away without payment in exchange for acting opportunities.
Oboli, known for the ‘Wives on Strike’ franchise, explained that she realized her scripts were not being brought to life as she envisioned, prompting her to take the leap and become a director. Despite initial fears and doubts, she pursued formal education at the New York Film Academy and began understudying directors on set.
Oboli has since directed several films, including ‘Moms at War’, ‘Last Year Single’, and the upcoming ‘The Uprising: Wives on Strike 3’, premiering in October.
