Quote from: Celestial1 on 15-03-2011 09:45 PM This happens all over the world from time to time depending on conditions. Is it just a lack of rains and the reservoirs are low, or is it just poor infrastructure? Whatever the case, ppl have to get out of the mindset of depending on the govt and start thinking about how they will do for themselves. You mean each household should become a waterboard? There are certain things that are the responsiblities of government, at least in the third world context and water, electricity, roads, health care, education etc are among them.

Quote from: mariamajane on 15-03-2011 04:18 AM What is it with Nigeria that she can't get things right? The capital city billed as the finest to come out of Africa is heavy-laden with woes besetting other Nigerian cities and crumbling infrastructures. You are absolutely right brother, they can never get things right. This is so disheartening because Abuja was regarded as a well planned city. Someone forget to plan for the growth in population, and bad weather conditions. Nigerian economy is in shambles because of similar incompetence of our overpaid government officials. The most disgraceful aspect is that they are blaming the weather. Truth is that they failed to plan for the rapid growth in population. They were myopic in their vision for Abuja. They never made allowances for rapid developments and economic growth. Shame. shame. shame. dan fulani

igeria is the crippled and epileptic idiot of AFRICA.........egypt,algeria,sudan,morroco,libya,tunisia and the rest of the midle east lives in the desert with little or no rain falls but yet there is constant water supply in all those countries but nigeria with all its natural endowments including ocean, rivers, lakes, dams, streams and tropical rain forest is complaining for just ordinary tap water in the nations capital. what a shame of crippled and epileptic country like nigeria. some times i feel ashamed to be identified with this animal kingdom that is called nigeria. it shall never be well with all this our wicked and volturous leaders and every body who have contributed in one way or the other to cause us all this national embarrasment and hardship. it shall never be well with their generation yet unborn except they forsake the ways of their four fathers. jonathan or no jonathan they should all go to hell hell and rot there because that is where they all come from. beast of leaders always going back wards when the world is talking about nuclear energy, digital and going to the moon nigerian is talking about how to ration water in the nations capital. i wonder how many more millions of years it will take to give those who are in the rural areas water and all this our bastards of leaders are travelling to all over the world the world every day and seeing how other governemnts are doing and the condition of living of their living. Brother, I salute your reasoning which is absolutely spot on. Some of those involved in Abuja masterplan went around major cities of the world to capitalise on the success and woes those countries faced in building enduring cities yet Nigeria could not use the fruit of these lessons to the advantage of Abuja in the face of population explosion. It is quite disheartening. The most disgraceful aspect is that they are blaming the weather. Truth is that they failed to plan for the rapid growth in population.
