A former president of the Ijaw Youth Council and leader of the Niger Delta Peoples Salvation Front, Alhaji Mujahid Asari-Dokubo, on Friday in Abuja said he would not accept the position of Special Adviser to President Goodluck Jonathan on Niger Delta, citing personal and collective reasons as excuse. He described the inauguration of the President as the best thing in the nation’s political history, adding that it signalled an imminent independence of the Niger Delta region.
According to him, the Presidency should retain the former occupant of the position, Mr. Kingsley Kuku, who, he stressed, remained the best candidate for the office for now.
He said this in a statement which he read to journalists.
He said, “My attention has been drawn to rumours making the round that my name has been recommended for appointment as the Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta.”
The same Asari Dokugbo; the militant?
Jonathan I hail!

I hope this wasn't supposed to be some kind of bribe. Anyways, it didn't work if it was.

His refusal did not sound as if he is against govt nor Goodluck but like a chance for orderliness in Niger delta affair.......... May be he want to be so frank that he don't want to be seen as selfish man or what.........That's suprising to here after complementing mr president......... I thought he must be a kind of greedy person who can easily be influenced by money and position like most leaders in Nigeria........still guessing............or..........is he playing game ?

I see a lot of sense in what you are saying...But don't you think greed should rather make him fall flat for the offer?

Asari Dokubo was not the leader of Niger Delta Peoples Salvation Front but Niger Delta Peoples' Volunteer Force, take note. I hope this is not a rumour.

The balding Manchester United player Rooney revealed on Twitter that he had used his time off to visit a hair specialist. "Just to confirm to all my followers I have had a hair transplant. I was going bald at 25, why not. I'm delighted with the result," he wrote on the social networking website. "It's still a bit bruised and swollen when it dies down u will be first to see it. Anyone recommend any good hair gel. Haha."

..you are very right........very right my dear........i can't draw any critical conclusion out,,,,, but it is a surprise--------to hear that a Nigerian-political-FACTION-leader------------could put himself ASIDE in a position like this,,,,,,,,,,caring for the orderliness alone................this is another reason to blive in change and stop seeing Nigeria only as a home for careless and selfish leaders..........i will not conclude anyways..................................
