Quote from: maryclaret on 19-08-2011 06:24 AM Ok, I don't know what the reporter's intentions were when she was investigating on the two issues. But one thing that I'm certain about is that knowledge is power. Even if she had bad intentions, it's now left for we Nigerians to use this knowledge of what is going on in our country and actually do something about it. I don't see the need to fired up about the documentary and start insulting each other or the reporter. Some people including Nigerians may not know what is going on in regards to the high rate of human trafficking in Nigeria, no matter which state the girls come from. So this could be a source of knowledge or enlightenment for Nigerians and others worldwide to "look before they leap." Everything you see and hear, you only act upon it based on the angle you look at it from. Please, all the animosity doesn't help Naija move forward. well said

Quote from: purityjustice on 18-08-2011 11:35 AM crying like a baby for my father land. nigeria needs GODS intervention. Do not wait for God's intervention. You can do your part by telling people about the evils of trafficking girls for prostitution. If you hear about someone involved in recruiting girls, report to the police. Everybody can help in this war against evil and save many girls. Another truth is that poverty plays a part in this evil trade. Our politicians intentionally steal the money, keep the people poor and put them in a situation to be exploited. dan fulani

Our young girls are being recruited and taken to Europe where they are turned into sex slaves. The practice is evil and needs to stop. This documentary will save a few girls. But until the government is willing to put a stop to it finally, the trafficking of girls to Europe will continue. Too many people gain from the trade for it to end. Until the profit motive is removed, we will not see it ending soon. dan fulani

Quote from: HOPEA23 on 18-08-2011 01:15 PM ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I agree with you, HOPEA23. Edo state is not the only state where women are recruited and sent overseas for prostitution. Just as Abia is not the only state where babies are sold. Making derogatory remarks about these states does help the situation. We need to work together to end these practices. We nigerians need to rethink our moral values. If we know something is wrong, we should try to stop it. We cannot do it alone we need to work together to end these types of evil businesses. dan fulani

Quote from: gift2006 on 18-08-2011 01:56 PM There are more prostitutes and child traffickers in Lagos state than the entire South East region. I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere so shut the fcuk up. Is there any lady in Lagos who isn't a prostitute? ask them jare. Your attitude toward women is wrong. Not all women in Lagos are prostitutes. Your statement is disrespectful, unwise, and says alot about your character. It does not matter where the traffickers got the women they sent to Europe for prostitution. They could have come from Edo, Lagos or any other state. What is important is that the practice is wrong and evil. We need to work together to stop it. dan fulani

You are right, education is the key. Please spread the message. dan fulani

Quote from: DHash on 18-08-2011 01:22 PM Is like prostitution is ORIGINATED from Edo State. God forbid Prostitution did not originate from Edo state. There is prostitution in every city and state in Nigeria. Edo state is in the news because the state is mentioned alot in stories about prostitution. I will suggest that Edo state has a small fraction of all the prostitutes in Nigeria. Please lets stop making poor remarks about Edo people. They have been insulted and humilated enough. dan fulani

Quote from: deboalabi262 on 18-08-2011 11:39 AM It is very much disheartening and absurd that majority of Edo girls are Sluts and Prostitutes. A vivid insult/disgrace to womanhood. Just too bad... Mr. deboalabi262, I disagree with your post. You do not have any proof to support your remark about Edo girls. You write as an uneducated person. Do you not know that majority of these girl were NOT prostitutes before they were trafficked to Europe and turn into sex slaves? Here you are blaming the victims. Stop trying to feel superior to htses girls. The have limited education just like you. Their lack of education is due to poverty. What is the excuse for yours.? dan fulani

Edo state girls, boys men, women, father, mother, leaders, chief & all what concern this state & his people are all disgrace to womanhood, to the FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA & to the all world. ReplyComing back to this lady fairy tale of her not knowing she is coming for prostitute in this 20th century is a big lie ! in the earlier begining, back in those years when this indecent human tracfficking started, one can then give judgement of her been naive & innocent. but this days even the unborn baby in the womb of an Edo state women know she is coming for prostitution immediately he/she is put to birth. she knew of everything .this story is no more new to nobody. The Nigeria government, the UN, & others in capacity of power should prosecute both tracffickers & those tracfficated ! they are all botch of combined criminals damaging the GOOD IMAGE OF THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA. Edo state Boys/girls,men/women fathers/mothers,young/old,chief/rulers etc etc =419s, thieves, prostitutes, decepts, frauders, imposters, full of bad bad image, evils & criminalities! it's incredible ! what a shame! Do not be surprise all person in support of this rubbish been male or female are from Edo state. (touch not their rotten bussiness)
