TO prevent breach of security that has become common in the northern parts of the country, a helicopter roved over the sky while no fewer than five armoured tanks stationed at strategic locations in the ancient city of Kano when four couples, including the brothers of the wife of Vice-President Namadi Sambo got married.
The marriage was attended by no fewer than four governors--Kaduna, Bauchi, Katsina, Niger--and the deputy governor of Borno State.
As early as 7.00am, all nooks and crannies of Kano were condoned off by heavily armed security men while movement of people were equally restricted within the vicinity where the wedding fathia took place.
The security operatives, consist of a combined team of soldiers, policemen, Airforce officers, officers of the Civil Defence Corps as well as members of vigilance groups, who were all combat ready to deal with any situation
The wedding fathia, which was held at Umar Binkthataph Jumat Mosque, was also attended by the chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Bamangar Tukur.
Other important personalities that graced the occasion were former Ogun State governor, Chief Gbenga Daniel; Senator Iyiola Omisore and a former Kogi State governor, Prince Abubakar Idris.
