The Senate on Wednesday confirmed the nomination of Justice Alooma Mukhtar as the new Chief Justice of Nigeria.
She was confirmed after a screening by the Committee of the Whole Senate.
With this confirmation, she has become the first female Chief Justice of Nigeria and will replace Justice dahiru Musdapher, who will retire on Friday, July 13, 2012
