They say a hungry man is an angry man. This reads true of a Gokwe polygamist (42) who thrashed his seventh wife for failing to perform her bedroom duties thereby segxwally starving the man.
Cephas Zimuti’s seventh wife, Shelter Dziripi, is reported to have gone away for 11 days when her turn to ‘shelter’ Dziripi’s segxwal anaconda inside her adult entertainment factory had arrived.
It is said that during the woman’s disappearance, Zimuti made frantic efforts to locate her but to no avail. As such he is understood to have taken out his desires on other wives. After her turn elapsed, the seventh’s wife returned home and found her husband in an uncompromising mood.
It is said that on the day, Zimuti (father of 43) summoned four of his wives to his hut and afterwards called the seemingly rogue Dziripi to join them. The man then asked her where she had been and the woman remained mum. This reportedly angered the husband of many wives who later threatened to beat her up. Still the woman was defiant.
Angered by that, Zimuti got hold of the woman and whipped her on her buttocks as his other wives watched in horror. The whipping was enough to send fear down her spine. Dziripi is said to have told the man and her co-wives that she had gone to look for a job. She further revealed that she wanted money for bus fare to go back to her parents’ home since she had experienced enough of polygamous arrangement. This is said to have angered Zimuti who armed himself with a stick and thrashed Dziripi again on her buttocks.
The woman could not stomach the humiliation and reported her husband to the police. Zimuti was sentenced to three months in prison with an option to pay a fine of US$100 on a physical abuse charge when he appeared before magistrate Mr Shepherd Munjanja.
Common sense is indeed not common.
