It might not be in the WRITTEN Nigerian constitution, but is is in the UNWRITTEN Customs in Yoruba land. Even the English who annexed and ruled Nigeria for many many years accepted these customary laws. They made provision for it. Even there is provision for it in the said WRITTEN constitution of Nigeria. The unwritten customary constitution of Yoruba land forbids such practice.
