The ex-soldiers under the aegis of Able Voluntary Retired or Discharged 10 Years and Above Military Service, said they have been denied their pension for about 35 years.
The ex-warlords who made this disclosure in a statement by Sergeant Kasali Busari (rtd), said they have been parading the courts for almost 11 years just for the interpretation of a Federal Government circular No. 4/1977 and Decree 102 of 1979.
They are praying the court to interprete the Decree for them to enable them qualify for inclusion on the payroll by the Ministry of Defence Headquarters and Directorate of Military Pension Board.
According to them, they have not been collecting pension since 1978.
They said hearing on the case has been concluded and they are now waiting for judgment.
They explained that they do not have anything against the Ministry of Defence as they have agreed to pay them.
What has become a source of worry to them is the constant transfer of the judges handling their case each time they are about dispensing judgement.
