"That is not me. I would never ever do that or say such things," he said. "I don’t use Twitter or Facebook.
"As soon as I heard what he was saying, I called my friend John Mikel Obi and told him that that was not me.
"I also called Kanu (former Nigeria captain) and explained to him that it was not me.
"They were both very understanding and told me not to worry."
Kanu told KickOffNigeria.com that he had indeed spoken to Eboue, "He called me and told me that he doesn’t have any account on Twitter and Facebook and he is not the one saying all those things."
Ivory Coast are the runaway favourites to claim honours on the day, but Eboue says it will not be that straightforward
