On Monday, horrifying details were released on the arrest of Jessica Lynn Howell, 25, after the rape and murder of her 4-month-old daughter, Ashlynn Lilith Peters on December 3 of last year.
Prosecutors allege the baby was raped and murdered by Howell's boyfriend Jordan Lafayette Prince and that Prince had previously been convicted of assaulting a child.
The prosecutors' narrative takes an even darker turn when it comes to the rape and strangling of baby Ashlynn, as court documents state that Howell was not only aware of Prince's history, but that she consented to and arranged for the fatal assault to occur.
Police also said Prince forcibly sodomized and abused the infant, causing blunt trauma to the child's ear, head, chest, abdomen, back and legs, and caused multiple tears in her rectum, bladder and uterus.
Prosecutors said Prince had deviate segxwal intercourse with the baby.
Police said Prince was watching the girl as her mother slept and became frustrated when the baby would not stop crying.
Prince originally was charged with murder, but prosecutors also brought the sodomy and child abuse charges before the grand jury. An autopsy preformed on Dec. 5 ruled the cause of death to be asphyxiation and death was ruled to be a homicide.
Prince is being held by St. Charles County Corrections. Bail was set at $150,000, cash only.
