A final year student of the Western Annag Secondary Commercial School in Ukanafun, Ukanafun LGA of Akwa Ibom State, was at the weekend struck to death by a bolt of lightning.
Victor, 15, was an indigene of Nkek village.
According to eyewitnesses, after attending his grandmother's funeral ceremony, Victor joined his friends who were playing at a nearby football field. Suddenly, a heavy rain started, accompanied by lightning and thunder.
The boy was struck by lightning and died instantly while his friends fled the scene, some of them sustained injuries.
Victor's friends described him as a nice and intelligent boy and lamented the fate that befell him, especially as the raining season is yet to commence properly.
The boy's remains were deposited in a mortuary.
Common sense is indeed not common.

there is nothing mysterious about lightening strike.....staying in open field during lightening is dangerous.
Don't waste your breath Osarobo62. Nigerians look upon anything they fail to understand as "evil" "demonic" "juju" or other similar beliefs. Lightening has killed many all over the world and there is nothing unusual about it!
