Reports from Biu Local Government council in the troubled Northeastern state of Borno indicate that insurgents have burnt down all communication masts in the area and also snatched a Jeep, which was shared to APC chieftains by the Borno State, Governor Kashim Shettima.
The Jeep, a Toyota Land-cruiser belonging to APC chieftain Alhaji Modu Kakas was said to have been snatched at gun point but the attackers did not kill anyone.
A resident of MIRGA, who reside in Gombe told us that he received the news.
Alhaji Sani MIRGA also told our correspondent that he was happy that no life was lost during the attack.
“When these people attack a place, they leave a trade mark of death. When they come to your town and did not kill anyone, then you have to thank God and make sacrifice (sadakka), because only people who are living in Borno State know the magnitude of killings meted on the innocent people by these people who are claiming to be doing the work of Allah”, MIRGA said.
“They came, they did not touch anyone. I have my aged parents, my brothers and sisters; I was not myself throughout last night because you cannot get anyone to call after they burnt the telephone masts but we thank Allah, our people are safe”, he added
