Three suspects have been arrested in Paris following a deadly attack on the offices of Charlie Hebdo Weekly which left 12 people dead.
The suspects have been identified as brothers Said Kouachi and Cherif Kouachi, who are both French nationals in their early 30s, and 18-year-old Hamyd Mourad.
A spokesman for the French police told the Guardian journalist, Kim Willsher in Paris that authorities have arrested the three suspects.
The men attacked staff of the satirical newspaper early on Wednesday, January 7, armed with Kalashnikovs and rocket launchers.
Editor Stéphane Charbonnier and colleagues Jean Cabut, Georges Wolinski, Bernard Verlhac, and Bernard Maris are among those believed to have died in the attack.

The world must rise in unity and confront the very evil that these jihadist represent. How do you ever justify killing and destruction all in the name of someone poking fun at your god? Anyone that has ever listen to these islamist preach will be amazed at the way they debase other religion and their God or god. They go as far as calling non islamist infidels and kufars and hell is not let loose. People had poked fun and say derogatory words at Jesus in uncountable times yet Christains are not bombing nor beheading others. This is a most heart wrenching tragedy. We are JUST seven days into the new year and look at what has happened. I think it time we ALL carry guns to DEFEND ourselves against these RAMPAGING Islamic extremists. If these 12 murdered souls had been armed I am sure the story would be different. Killing and justifying your religion as the EXCUSE for your actions is terrible.This incident in France has opened WIDER the door for the FAR RIGHT party in France to come into power and for RACIST thugs to start their harassment of ALL foreigners. NO foreigner LIVING in France will be safe.
If certain PEOPLE do not like freedom of speech in one country - stay in your HOME country or go to a place that LIVES your lifestyle. We ALL have places our family originated from.
And I think the COMPARISON BETWEEN the ADAM LANZA killings, the VIRGINIA MASSACRE and the 2012 AURORA is a little over the top. At NO time did the murderer Adam Lanza etc SHOUT out they were killing in the NAME of Jesus Christ. No time did they SHOUT out praise the Lord when committing murder. Neither did they ATTEND EXTREME CHRISTIAN MILITARY CAMPS. Yes we have the Lords Resistant Army in Uganda, a Christian fundamentalist group (with a belief in African mysticism) who are slaughtering people (men, women and children) but then go on to claim they WANT TO RULE their nation by the 10 commandments. That's hypocritical - one of the 10 commandments says "thou shalt not kill." Another group of nut cases. You just have to switch on the TV, listen to your radio or open a newspaper to see the atrocities going on around the Muslim world - including Nigeria. And in many instances it is acceptable by some. Some countries CELEBRATED the 9/11 incident in USA . In Nigeria on that day SWEETS were shared in support of the 9/11 tragedy in some Northern states IN Nigeria. And now we have OUR own scourge - -the Boko Haram.
Yes we ALL know the preachings - Islam is a peaceful religion - but some Muslims are trying to show us it is not and they are WINNING IN CONVINCING US THAT IT IS NOT A PEACEFUL RELIGION. They EVEN KILL their OWN. What is more frightening is that these Islamic extremists are represented by ALL skin colours. Who thought that one day a WHITE widow would join the CLUB AND BECOME ONE OF the MOST WANTED in the WORLD. Astonishing!
People who use religion to cause mayhem are the worst type and most dangerous criminals. It can ONLY get worse and it WILL.
