Edo State Government Declares Public Holiday To Celebrate Buhari’s Victory

Edo state authorities declared April 1, Wednesday, a public holiday for the residents to celebrate the historic victory of Muhammadu Buhari.



It should be noted that in Edo the All Progressives Congress candidate received 208,469 votes, while the Peoples Democratic Party candidate, Goodluck Jonathan, polled 286,869.

However, Governor Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole released a statement in which he invited people of the state to a victory party which will hold at the Oba Ovoranmwen Square, Benin starting from 3.00pm.

The Nation provides that famous Nigerian artistes, including Davido, Patoranking, Osayomore Joseph, Young Bolivia, will perform at the festive event.

Thew Independent National Electoral Commission is yet expected to announce the results on Borno state before making the final claim on the outcome of the election.
