Thousands of residents on the outskirt of Giwa Military Barracks, University of Maiduguri community, 202 and 303 housing estates, Dalori quarters scuttled for safety on Wednesday, May 13 as Boko Haram terrorists stormed Maiduguri, multiple reports say.

The terrorists reportedly invaded the city around 5.00pm, shooting sporadically and targeting military formations including 21 Armoured Brigade (Giwa Barracks) that came under deadly attacks last year.

Eyewitnesses say the Boko Haram militants came in a large number, with full arsenal. Scores were reportedly killed.
It was reported that many could not escape into the main town because the roads and streets have been blocked by military and men of the JTF.
According to a source, the insurgents were sighted around Kayamula village, which shares border with Sambisa Forest.
A student at the University of Maiduguri said many stray bullets entered hostels, injuring many students.
