The Senate on Wednesday passed the segxwal Offences Bill, 2015 which prescribes life imprisonment for rapists and those who have segxwal intercourse with children under 11 years.
According to Leadership, The passage of the bill followed the report of the Committee on Judiciary, Human Rights and Legal Matters, Chaired by Sen. Umaru Dahiru (APC Sokoto-South).
Presenting the report, Dahiru said the passage of the bill would give legal backing for the prosecution of segxwal offenders.
He said if approved, rapists and those who segxwally abuse children would bag life imprisonment while other segxwal offenders would also be sentenced to serve various prison terms.
The President of the Senate, Sen. David Mark, expressed delight on the efforts of the committee to evolve a stronger law against segxwal violations.

Plz dnt get dem wrong,our legal age of marriage n maturity is stil 18yrs.this bill protect dose who are segxwaly harrased at tender age cos of d trauma involved.if u violate a gal above 11 u wil get strict jail sentence too.tnx

Surely this must be a prank, either we have a bunch of clowns making laws for us or we just plainly have tons of peadophiles as lawmakers..... What does an 11 year old boy or girl know about family life and marriage, simply anyone that does not understand marriage and such relationships cannot be considered mentally matured enough to consent sex. Because sex is beyond having mere physical pleasures, the consequences has to be beared by someone, so essentially if this 11 years old girl or boy cannot bear the consequences of having sex why on earth can any sensible or educated person thin it is ok to allow sex with such a kid, I hope this kind of law can get a due review and be revisited duly because this is just ridiculous and the law on its own is a crime in my opinion

Mr Mark, you are probably the most diabolical human being I've ever known. Now if u have carnal knowledge with a girl that is 12 years it's not an abuse. Just to remind you people aged 1 - 12 are regarded as Children under United Nations statue which Nigeria is signatory to.
