Malam Nasir El-Rufai, governor of the north western Nigerian state of Kaduna has appointed two non-indigenes into his cabinet as advisers. The two are Jimi Adebisi Lawal and Muyiwa Adekeye.
Lawal, a former banker from Ogun state, will serve as his special adviser on Investment Promotion, while Adekeye, a former journalist with TheNEWS group and PR Consultant, will serve as special adviser on Media and communication. Adekeye is from Kogi State.
The appointments were announced in a statement signed by the Special Assistant Media and Publicity , Samuel Aruwan . Other advisers appointed were Uba Sani, political matters, Mohammed Sani Suleiman, legal affairs.
Two new permanent secretaries were also announced. They are : Aishatu Kumbo Mohammed- Solicitor-General and Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Justice and Dr. Abdulkadir Kassim- Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. Musa Abu Sheyin was appointed Deputy Chief of Staff ( Office of the Deputy Governor), while Colonel Yakubu Yusuf (rtd) will serve as the Coordinator of Operation Yaki.
The governor has also expressed the gratitude of the state government for the contributions of Mr. Habila D. Kyong, who retired today as Head of Service.
