Many People Reportedly Killed in Bank Robbery in Edo State This Morning

Many people were killed after armed robbers struck a bank at Igarra, in Akoko-Edo local government area of Edo State this morning. Eyewitnesses say the robbers arrived the bank at about 6am, killed the security guard, carted away with money in the bank before engaging the police in a serious gun battle. Many people were left with bullet wounds after the robbers fired gunshots in the air in a bid to scare the police and residents of the area away. None of the robbers were arrested. The state police spokesman, Stanley Osifo confirmed the incident and said he and the state commissioner of police have been to the scene of the incident.

Na wao, even as the police still engage with dem yet dem no fit subdue dem. Dat na to show say our police men no get enough and sophisticated weapons. Even the ones government go give dem, dem go borrow am to armed robbers. May the souls of the dead rest in peace
