Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai has banned hawking of petroleum products in the state and ordered security agents to arrest defaulters. As contained in a statement released on Tuesday, April 5, by the Special Assistant to the Governor on Media and Publicity, Mr Samuel Aruwan, all filling stations in the state are no longer allowed to dispense petrol in Jerry cans. According to the statement, the ban was part of the decisions taken during Tuesday’s state Security Council meeting. It said that security agencies have been directed to enforce the ban in accordance with the Kaduna State Petroleum Products (Anti-Hoarding and Adulteration) Law of 1992.
“This law empowers the task force to ensure that petroleum product were sold in a safe manner, with stiff penalty on violators. “Council based its decision on legal and security considerations, compounded by the environmental hazard petroleum products in Jerry cans can cause,” the statement said. “The Security Council unanimously agreed to ban the sale and urged motorists to remain calm as government was taking measures to address the current scarcity. “The state government is working with the NNPC and other agencies to reduce the hardship associated with the shortages of petroleum products. “Council also observed that the unsafe handling of petroleum products during periods like this has been associated with fires, destruction and fatal consequences for innocent victims. “Council further warned those engaged in sabotage and illegal sale of petroleum products in the state to desist with immediate effect. “The Security Council also directed the arrest and prosecution of those found violating the ban, and the outright confiscation of any petroleum product found in their possession,“ it added. The meeting was chaired by Governor El-rufai, and had in attendance the state Deputy Governor, Mr Barnabas Bala, representatives of the Nigerian Army, the Nigerian Air Force and the Nigerian Navy.

Dear,If you have a clear compilation of Nigeria best performing leaders ,I'm sure you won't vent your anger on Buhari. The truth is let's commend the effort of those few who has been trying to put the house back on solid planning .Buhari did not create this hardship ,he inherited a virtually empty economy .The previous administration virtually looted every penny in the government coffers, wasted on campeign with hope of coming back to write this debt off without notice.Adding to the nation unfortunate current hardship is the slump in global crude prices ,the major or would say the sole source of Nigeria revenue ,what a shame after all these years of knowing as Africa largest exporter of crude oil yet we solely depended on one source of revenue .Stagnant or shall we say we were sufficient since those in power had enough to steal to be super wealthy and rob shoulder with the richest Arab and western oligarchy at the highest level of world billionaire .As long as these selected individual in Nigeria a super rich then our government is believed to have done the necessity ,while the masses are dwelling in abject poverty .To blame this on Buhari is unfair my dear .And for El Rufai swift move banned of petrol sales in cans ,I say God bless you for taken the easiest of all decision at least to safe lives. We r not supposed to be told that petroleum products is a liquid bomb .It is a security threat and can cause serious environmental disaster .It not done in any part of the civilized world to store petroleum product carelessly ,it can burn entire city down .
