An eight-year-old pupil of Dew Point Nusery and Primary School, in Ifo Local Government, Ogun State, on Saturday afternoon died in a flood.
Confirming the incident, the Community Chairman, Mr. Abraham Adeosun said the little girl, Biliki Ayinde, was playing around when she fell into the flood and because of the depth of the flood, no one could get into it until they found a man who knew how to swim .
“Unfortunately, she died before help could get her,” he said. Adeosun said the girl had been buried according to Muslim rights.
He however complained that the community has been experiencing flooding for more than six years and that sometimes it covered many homes. He said because of the stretch of gas line buried along that axis, the gas line authorities bared the community is from digging drainages and constructing roads. He called on the state government to come to the aid of the community.
