WHY CANT NIGERIA BE A PLACE TO VISIT BY OTHER PILGRIMS  . ITS HAPPENING ALREADY AND FOREIGN EXCHANGE EARNER FOR THE COUNTRY .  IF THE GOVT CAN DIVERT THE FUNDS FOR SPONSORSHIP TO FOREIGN LANDS TO DEVELOPING OUR OWN LOCAL PILGRIM CENTRES .  THAT WILL BE WELL WORTH IT .
Built by whom?

There are some big Nigerian big churches and miracle centres being visited from all over the world already even by heads of States
I was in southern Africa early last year and people asked me many questions about some men of God i have very little to share with them but they even taught me more about what is going on and how they have been making those visits . Actitivities are featured on national TVs  of some countries i know of. Right now its people helping people and its very encouraging

i will disagree with you totally . that hajj is not and never cab be a journey under taking by rich peoples , hajj is never like going to jerusalem , is not like going to the amusements park , and is not like a jambores ,its ordaine by ALLAH himself , commanding the faithful to embark on the journey of faith , GOD said in the holy book al-quraan chapter 22 verse 27 which happen to the chapter of hajj itself ----- and proclaim to mankind the hajj ( pilgrimage) they will come to you on foot and on every lean camel, they will come from every deep and distance (wide) mountain highway to perform hajj , that they may witnessthings that are of benefit to them ,i e reward of hajj in the hereafter , and also some worldly gain from trade , and mention the name of ALLAH on the apointed days i,e 10,11,12,and 13 days of duhl-hijjah
its a welcome  ideal if the fed govt stop the sponsoring , i for one did not see any thing bad in that and its a welcome idea and hajj had been a continues yearly events ever before nigeria came to be as a country , much more older than the age of our country as a nation to talk less of any govt in power , and no one i repeat no any govt be what so ever it may can stop its continuety

If the moslems want all moslems to do the hajj, then they should look for alternative funding methods, but definitely not states funds.  We need to learn to separate religion from the government because there too many ethnic groups in Nigeria and too many religions.  You cannot fund one group and not fund the other so the decision not to fund any is a better way to go.

EXACTLY !  YOU ARE VERY RIGHT .  NIGERIA BEING A SECULAR STATE .  THERE IS NO JUSTIFICATION FAVOURING ONE RELIGION OVER ANOTHER -  YOU HAVE SAID IT ALL - AND THANK YOU MUCH FOR THIS .

WHEN U LOOK FURTHER YOU WILL FIND THAT ALL THOSE SPONSORSHIP IS WHERE VOTE RIGGING  BEGINS  IN "IF U  SCRATCH MY BACK I WILL SCRATCH YOURS IN RETURN "   ITS THE REASON WHY INEPT GOVTS CONTINUE ON AND ON BECAUSE THEY ARE RIGGING THEIR WAY INTO THE PEOPLES HEARTS .  - THEY CAPITALIZE ON THE IGNORANCE AND GULLIBILITY OF THE AVERAGE VOTER. . THEY EXPLOIT THEIR STATE OF POVERTY TO BLINDFOLD THEM AND EXPLOIT THEM EVEN MORE

You will agree that this pilgrimage should not be sponsored by the national cake.  It should be a community thing where the rich people in the community should donate a substantial sum of money for those less able to make the pilgrimage to be able to do so at least once in their life time.

It used to be a journey made by the rich not sure why the government would get involved to sponsor others and yet, the poor without connection, has not been able to make that pilgrimage to date so it is well that this funding be abolished because those meant to benefit never did benefit, but the rich got richer and the poor got poorer and the funds were mismanaged.

I do not think that the hard currency spent to visit Nigeria by  the tourists will be going to the government coffers because the religious centres will not be paid by the government so the beneficiaries will be the religious organizations that participated in setting up these centres.

Tourism will bring money to the small entrepreneurs, hotels, etc.

Two can play this game.  We can either have a civilized conversation without the blame game or we can continue mudslinging.

Your claim that 65 to 70 percent of the Nigerian populations are muslims, I state that the Fulanis have obviously committed genocide in Nigeria when they have eliminated so many christians because in the past census, the population of christians compared to muslims were 50/50 in Nigeria.

The country cannot operate under religious sects but must operate as a secular society in order for things to work peacefully.  There are too many other religions in Nigeria that are not being treated the same way.  The Fulanis conquering the Hausas and keeping them into servitude for generations without giving them leadership authority or education needs to be looked at as well.  The legitimacy of Fulanis in Nigeria needs to be addressed as well.

The moslems cannot use the national budget as if it is their own central bank of Nigeria  for them to use in the worship of their god.  Your god should be able to supply all your needs and should not depend on that national cake.  Allocating these funds to people that do not need it except for them to travel on religious pilgrimage while the rest of the nations are living in poverty needs complete over haul on how budget is allocated in the future.

i will disagree with you totally . that hajj is not and never cab be a journey under taking by rich peoples , hajj is never like going to jerusalem , is not like going to the amusements park , and is not like a jambores ,its ordaine by ALLAH himself , commanding the faithful to embark on the journey of faith , GOD said in the holy book al-quraan chapter 22 verse 27 which happen to the chapter of hajj itself ----- and proclaim to mankind the hajj ( pilgrimage) they will come to you on foot and on every lean camel, they will come from every deep and distance (wide) mountain highway to perform hajj , that they may witnessthings that are of benefit to them ,i e reward of hajj in the hereafter , and also some worldly gain from trade , and mention the name of ALLAH on the apointed days i,e 10,11,12,and 13 days of duhl-hijjah
its a welcome  ideal if the fed govt stop the sponsoring , i for one did not see any thing bad in that and its a welcome idea and hajj had been a continues yearly events ever before nigeria came to be as a country , much more older than the age of our country as a nation to talk less of any govt in power , and no one i repeat no any govt be what so ever it may can stop its continuety

I do agree with your assessment on this topic.  Thank you very much because honestly both agree.

and do not forget that 65- 70 percent of nigeria populations were muslim , and muslims controls two-third or even more of nigerian states and every state has got every right on how best to utlise own share or allocations of the national budget with out any one poke nosing into the affairs, and tell me now spending the money in the way of GOD , or stacking it in ones personal domain as if the private residence or even the govt house is an annex of central bank of nigeria ,as the case of james ibori and so many southern governors , which one is more prefarable ?some of the goverbors are still having their cases pending in uk , its right time we stop chassing the shadows rather than an object

Thank you  . that was well analyzed and well reasoned out .
