
A popular PDP member of the House of Representatives, Mr. Edward Pwajok, has defected to the All Progressives Congress from the opposition Peoples Democratic Party. Edward Pwajock, a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) member in the house of representatives, has defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC). Yakubu Dogara, speaker of the house of reps, read Pwajock’s letter in plenary on Wednesday. Pwajock, representing Jos east/south federal constituency of Plateau state, said he left his former party because of the crisis there.
Reacting, Leo Ogor, minority leader of the house, faulted Pwajock’s excuse for citing factions in the PDP as an excuse for defecting. Simon Lalong, governor of Plateau, was in the green chamber to witness the announcement of Pwajock’s defection by the speaker. Speaking with journalists after the announcement was made, the lawmaker said his constituents have been clamouring for his defection due to the PDP’s crisis.
