Liverpool head to Stoke on Wednesday evening as the Premier League top four race starts to heat up.

Liverpool's 1-1 draw with Chelsea at Anfield allowed Arsenal to jump into fourth spot in the table, with Jurgen Klopp's men now sitting sixth - 14 points behind league leaders Manchester City after just 13 games.

The Reds boast one of the most fearsome front lines in the top flight, but Klopp must improve a disappointing defence if they are to qualify for next season's Champions League - starting with a result against Mark Hughes' struggling Stoke.


Team news
Joel Matip is a doubt for the hosts with a thigh strain, though Adam Lallana should be fit as he battles a similar problem.

Nathaniel Clyne remains out with a long-term back problem.

Mark Hughes is likely to make changes from the side which lost 2-1 at Crystal Palace last weekend.
