It could be a good time for David Moyes’ to face the Gunners, who compounded the misery of their 3-1 defeat to Manchester United with a woeful display in a 1-1 draw at Southampton on Sunday.
Certainly West Ham will be optimistic of a better result than in the same fixture last season, when Alexis Sanchez scored a hat-trick in a 5-1 win in Stratford that had Slaven Bilic facing questions over his future.
Moyes has lost 17 of his 28 games against Wenger, more than against any other manager, but with confidence on the up in east London he might be optimistic he can find a fifth win against the Gunners.

Team news
West Ham are unlikely to make major changes from the side that beat Chelsea 1-0, particularly with Cheikhou Kouyate and Sam Byram not expected to have recovered in time. Jose Fonte remains the only long-term absentee.
James Collins could return from a hamstring injury in time for Arsenal’s visit but Moyes is expected to stick with the defence that held the champions at bay. That means Joe Hart is once more set to be confined to the bench, with Adrian starting in goal.
Both Shkodran Mustafi and Aaron Ramsey are likely to face fitness tests before their participation is confirmed.
Wenger hinted Mustafi could overcome his “little thigh problem” in time for the visit to West Ham whilst Ramsey’s hamstring injury still requires assessment. Should he miss out Jack Wilshere could make his first Premier League start for Arsenal since May 2016.
Predicted lineups
West Ham starting XI: Adrian; Zabaleta, Reid, Ogbonna, Cresswell; Arnautovic, Noble, Lanzini, Obiang, Masuaku; Antonio
Arsenal starting XI: Cech; Koscielny, Mustafi, Monreal; Bellerin, Xhaka, Wilshere, Kolasinac; Ozil, Sanchez; Lacazette
