The All Progressives Congress (APC), on Friday, said that it will take over the state from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in 2023.

The party made this disclosure on Friday in Ibadan, the state capital.

APC Ward Congress committee Chairman, Alhaji Gambo Lawan, who addressed a press conference, noted that the party would have still be in power if not for misunderstanding and disagreement that came up in the last election.

He, however, insisted that the party has repositioned itself to take over the state in 2023.

He said that the party will go ahead with the ward Congresses tomorrow (Saturday).

Lawan appealed to members to conduct themselves in line with the rules and regulations of the party.

Lawan said, “Even with the sitting governor, we lost election due to lack of understanding and too much of personal interest, we lost the election because of all the shortcomings.

“We are here as committee from the national headquarters of APC to conduct Ward Congressess to the 351wards in Oyo State.

“We are nominated by the national secetariat, and we have the mandate of the party to conduct and supervised primary election of the party at the ward level.

“We have already meet all the critical stakeholders, and we have collective understanding in how to proceed with the ward congressess.

“We came with every sense of responsibility and sincerely of purpose with honesty and fairness so that nobody will accuse us of injustice.”
