I have tried all i could, but to no avail. So, 4 me to have written it here will make u to know that i realy need help. I am just 30, but dont like the way i am looking, i have tried dieting but it did'nt work, also tried exercise but still looking fatter. I am tired and confused.

Onyimau20, I can give you free medical advice. I can give you the fundamentals about weight gain and loss. Its a question of input and output. If your input = Output, your weight will remain stable. If your input (calorie intake) is higher than output (energy spent daily), you will gain weight, and vice versa.

An average woman needs about 1500 - 2000 calories per day, depending on level of activity. To lose weight, you must consume less food than your output. Either you reduce intake (dieting) or you increase activity (exercise). Generally speaking, increase exercise is more effective than dieting, if you can control yourself from increasing your food intake.

To lose weight in Nigeria, note the following:

1. Avoid rice, and fried foods like dodo

2. Don't skip meals

3. Eat 3 -4 times daily, small quantities, rather than large amount 1 or two times daily

4. Avoid Egusi, red meat (cow, goat etc)

5. Avoid fast foods, Mr Biggs etc

6. Drink plain water, avoid soft drinks except diet soft drinks

7. Eba and ila is good for losing weight; don't take a wrap bigger than your clenched fist at one time

8. Drink lots of water BEFORE you start eating

9. Avoid chocolates and sweets, use fruits as snacks

10. Exercise daily - jumping on the spot daily or skipping rope for 15 minutes daily is enough -- start gradually, 1 minute per day for five days, increasing by one minute every 5 days

If you follow this advice, you will lose weight naturally.

If all fails, you may try Xenical or Alli (orlistat) which helps you to get rid of excess fat. It is cheaper in the US and can be purchased on the internet; but I have seen it also in Nigeria.

I forgot to add: cereal + skimmed milk is very good to lose weight. Avoid sugar, use sweeteners

The best way to reduce weight is by working -out (QED) . there's no 2 ways about it. It's only lazy people that don't want to stress their body looks for a short cut. They take a lot of different tablets. Give your body a good dose of exercise and control your diet. Avoid or cut down on oily foods or fried foods.

Summary
L-carnitine is one type of biostearin - the body's essential nutrients, and is also known as vitamin BT. In adult body tissues, it contains approximately 20g of L-carnitine, mainly in tissues of skeletal muscle, heart muscle, liver, testis and other organs. In heart muscle, it accounts for the highest content of L-carnitine and in muscles the content is high as well. The physical function of L-carnitine is to promote fat transfer into energy. For normal human being, the daily activity consumes at least 400 mg.
Obesity is mainly caused by fat accumulation. Elimination of fat is the fundamental for weight reduction. The metabolism of fat is to go through a screen; at outer surface of the screen are mitochondria responsible for burning fat and transferring into energy for body’s consumption.
