Former Governor of Ekiti State, Segun Oni has dumped the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, after he failed to clinch the governorship seat ticket of the party at the primary election.
Oni had dumped the All Progressives Congress (APC) for PDP to seek his governorship ambition.
Now that he has lost the ticket, he has dumped the PDP and is yet to name the new party he is going to join to contest the Ekiti poll.
According to the Director of Media in the Segun Oni Campaign Organisation, “We have just said bye-bye to the PDP and ‘Oga’ (Segun Oni) thanked all the people who worked with him and dissolved all the structures that ran the purported primary in the PDP”.
It is not yet revealed which party Oni will be going next, but sources are saying he might join the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, to contest the coming Ekiti poll.
Oni had lost the PDP governorship primary to Bisi Kolawole, who is former Governor Ayodele Fayose’s candidate.
