The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has said any verdict of the Industrial Court that forces lecturers back to school will have a negative impact.

The President of ASUU, Emmanuel Osadeko, while meeting with the leadership of the House of Representatives on Tuesday, said if lecturers are forced to school, what kind of education are they expecting students to get?

It would be recalled that the federal government dragged ASUU to the National Industrial Court over the seven months ASUU strike.

Justice Polycarp Hamman had on Monday adjourned the case after listening to the arguments of the counsel on behalf of the parties. The court is expected to reconvene on Wednesday.

Speaking before the closed-door session, Mr. Osadeko said forcing lecturers back to school is like forcing doctors to treat patients.

“If the court forces the lecturers to go to work tomorrow, which type of teaching will they do? If the court forces the Nigerian academics — say go and teach against your will — just like the court forcing a doctor to go and treat a patient against your will, how many of us will go and meet that doctor.”

Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila had stated that the meeting must produce a resolution that will end the strike.

That person you people have has president is not made of Nigeria for the benefit of the people, that man called Buhari and his cabals are only for himself and himself alone, Nigeria should by now wake up to chase the bad government away by protesting, but no no everyone is too busy and not even bothered about the present administration of this terrorist president, how can a sitting president fold his hand I don't care and allow students to sit at home on strike for a whole seven months and counting now, wonderful!!
