Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja reveals that soldier who criticised Governor Sanwo-Olu for arresting his colleague has been arrested.

Addressing newsmen today, January 9, Taoreed said the conduct of the soldier apprehended for driving against traffic does not represent the entire Nigerian Army.

He further disclosed that many viral videos showing soldiers criticizing the Lagos state governor were fake, clarifying that only one authentic video was investigated, and the unidentified soldier involved has been apprehended.

The COAS also said that the Army has taken steps to instruct soldiers on how to behave in the different localities they are deployed.

Very good!! Guard room straight! Let him spend time there. Everybody can't be mad in that Nigeria. Some thugs that call themselves soldiers were driving against traffic in highway and morons are supporting them. I'm not sure what's wrong with you people.

Niki, freedom of speech no reach here o. These are trained military officers that have ethics. Speaking against the same authority that they have sworn to be loyal to and to their Nation, is not one of the ethics. Civilians have upper hand in certain issues and free speech is one of them.

Respect soldiers, they the life of every nation. Nigerian Soldiers should not be demoralised, they should be motivated no matter what rather, caution ill-behaved ones. This is why Nigerian army  could not subdue Boko Haram and terrorists up till now, because of lack of motivation and co-operation.
