The Sokoto State Police Command has confirmed the gruesome murder of a middle-aged woman in a hotel within the Sokoto metropolis. The incident, which has sent shockwaves through the community, involved the woman being killed in a hotel room where she allegedly accompanied her killer.
In a telephone interview, the state Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Ahmed Rufai, disclosed to our correspondent that the deceased was discovered with a slit throat in the hotel's bathroom.
"We have initiated an investigation into the incident," ASP Rufai stated. "We have gathered useful information from documents the suspect left behind in the hotel room, as well as his registration details at the reception."
Rufai assured that the police are diligently pursuing leads and promised to keep the public updated as the investigation progresses. "We will update the press on our findings as the investigation unfolds, but for now, we are on it," he added.
Sources close to the victim revealed that the woman was a divorced mother of four who occasionally visited the hotel. The community is reeling from the shock of the murder, and there is a heightened demand for justice and security assurances from the authorities.
